Healthy balanced diet – Obvious hey! But why is this number one?, I hear you say. Simple, by eating a variety of foods, you will not just keep your body healthy, but it will stop you craving those foods banned on FAD diets, and you will not be tempted to binge eat. |

Be Confident in your ability to stick to a healthy balanced diet. This is as important as eating correctly. Believe you can stick to this new lifestyle; I will start this positive thinking off with this, " Every single person can do this; you have already started by finding this page. So lets do it, I believe you can". |

Eat little and often – This way you will never be hungry, this keeps your body’s metabolic rate high all day. In other words burning calories all day. Try having three meals a day with added morning and afternoon snacks, but keep the portions small.
EXTRA TIP: Have an apple or orange at work/home ready for those 11am hunger pains. |
Avoid Caffeine – The slump which follows the brief energy burst will have you reaching for those calorie rich snacks. Try caffeine free alternatives. |
Include Protein in every meal – For example, Chicken or yogurt. These foods basically make you feel full for longer, and so you eat less and are less tempted by sugary snacks. |

Regular exercise- Perhaps Swimming (you never guest I was going to suggest that). Exercise burns calories which in turn means you lose weight and trim up.
EXTRA TIP: Try using the stairs instead of the lift at work, these small things all add up. |

Get your 5 portions a day – of fruit and veg that is. This will keep your body healthy and help you stay trim.
A TIP FOR WOMEN: Tropical fruits e.g. pineapple helps protect against cellulite. |
Treat yourself – by doing this once or twice a week you avoid feeling deprived of your favorite foods. I like to eat these treats slowly and savour them. |

Drink lots of fluids – Unfortunately alcohol does count. Often when you feel hungry you are actually thirsty. STAY HYDRATED.
And finally…………. |

Eat negative calories – These come from foods which take more calories to digest than are in the foods themselves. Examples are, Apples, Kiwis, Satsuma’s and best of all my all time favorite fruit Strawberries.
EXTRA TIP: Eat a portion of one of the above as a morning or afternoon snack. |
