Our Governments Plans For Free Swimming By 2012
If you’ve been living on Mars for the past year you may not know that in 2012 the Olympics are coming to London. |
Now this news is fab on its own, but it’s had an even better effect on swimming........How?

The government have announced that public swimming pools will be free for everyone by 2012 to encourage the sport and get people active. The Swim 4 Life campaign is part of the governments plan to get us involved in sport. |

Over 60s and children under 16 will be first to enjoy this, followed later by everyone else. |

The benefits of swimming will help everyone who wishes to take part in this free swimming offer by the government. |
| This is all well and good but what about NOW? Is this happening in my area? |
Below is a list of councils that we have found offering free swimming, It’s definitely not complete. The best way to find out is to visit your local council website. If you still can’t find any information there, contact them and ask the question "do you offer free swimming?".
Unfortunately not all councils at the moment offer this free swimming, but more and more are signing up to it, so it may require a little bit of patients.
