Choosing A Filter For My Pool

Choosing a filter is not the most exciting thing in the world, I agree, but very essential. I will keep it simple here otherwise you will be asleep by the end. Its best to speak to a pool contractor if you have any technical question on this subject.

Changing your filter on your poolOk, let begin. There are three types of filter;

Life Buoy SAND
Life Buoy CARTRIDGE
Life Buoy DIATOMACEOUS EARTH

Lets explain one at a time.

Sand Filter

The cheapest, and the most basic option. Water moves through the sand filter and debris is removed. Unfortunately large debris is often not filtered out by this type of filter.

TIP Sand filters need checking and cleaning out on a regular basis to increase their life and keep your pool clean.

Cartridge Filter

A Cartridge in a cylinder, which grabs and holds onto debris. Its is quicker and hold more debris than a sand filter. This means less cleaning, FAB!! once a month will do, just take it out and gentle wash with water. They can last up to a year before replacing.

Diatomaceous Earth Filter

A more complex filter (and name for that matter), but is the best of the three at cleaning your water.

Hear comes the scientific bit…..It uses tiny diatoms, to collect debris and dirt. All we need to know is it work very well, and keeps pools extremely clean.

Fish

I said I would keep it short and sweet. Have a shop around, and ask questions of the manufactures. Research is important before making a final decision.
