Pool safetySafety is critical when you own or are planning to have your own swimming pool. This is especially true when you have children. Below are some pointers to being safe with your pool

1)Install a fence

Install a fence with a lockable access gate around your pool. This will prevent children going near the pool when it’s not in use.


 

2)Learn to swim

3)Have a swimming friend

Never swim alone, if you get in trouble there is someone there to help.


 

4)Child Supervision

Children should never be left alone in the pool un-supervised. Limit the number of people in a pool at one time to make it easier to watch everyone.

5)Have the right equipment

Have some life saving equipment close to hand. This could be a life buoy or other floatation devises.


 

6)Wear sun lotion

Not an obvious one, but this will protect you and your child’s skin from the effects of the sun.


 

7)Check the water depth

If you are going to jump or dive into the pool, check that it is deep enough to do so.

8)Walk

Running around the poolside can lead to slips and trips. Walking is safer, save your running for in the pool.
