For adults, there is no hiding, YES you can learn to swim, and special adult swimming lessons are the best way to do this.
I think its time for a quick story to try and explain what I mean, bear with me….
| When I was learning to become a qualified swimming instructor, we were asked to take an hour lesson with adults who could not swim. We worked on confidence in the water and basic swimming strokes. What was amazing was the improvement over the month course (two lessons a week). Adults with a complete fear of water were soon swimming in deep water confidently. For a number of them it had been a life long dream to be able to swim. Its fab to see and you can all do it. |

| OPTION 1 | Yell.com - Simply type in your post code and let it do the work. A lot of swimming pools will have their own timetable of lessons and all amateur swimming clubs will provides child lessons. Try searching for the following

| OPTION 2 | www.bldsa.org.uk – This website provides a good list of swimming clubs throughout the country, all will provide swimming lessons for children and a lot will provide special adult lessons too. |
| OPTION 3 | Use our Council List to search for council run swimming lessons. Search under the sport and leisure sections, and look for swimming clubs/lessons. Council run swimming programs will provide children swimming lessons and often lessons for adults and parent & babies. |
